Our Story

"Forever Furniture began in April 1987, when Andrew Martens, Linda Martens, and their friend John Hodgins launched Antique and Oak. What started as a passion for quality furniture and timeless antiques quickly took root. After Andrew’s sudden passing in 2016, his brother Henry and Henry’s wife Brenda, alongside their dedicated employees, continued Andrew’s vision, growing the business year after year while remaining true to its roots."

Our History

A Journey of Growth

Andrew and John initially sold their pieces at the flea market outside Grand Bend and from John’s garage in Exeter. In 1991, a small blue showroom was built, and the focus shifted to handcrafted furniture made primarily by Mennonite artisans. As demand grew, the first Sarnia showroom opened in 1995. In 2001, the current St. Joseph’s Forever Furniture store was built along with a new custom finish shop. It was at this time that Henry Martens joined his brother Andrew, and together they built one growing company.

Today, Forever Furniture remains committed to its humble beginnings.
